History

Veterans Security was established in 1994 by Chad Benham, William Brandon, and Ennio Canziani. All three owners served together in the United States Army as military police officers, hence the name: Veterans Security. Veterans Security started with the three owners providing guard services to apartment complexes in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Throughout the years, our client base expanded to hotels, hospitals, trucking companies, construction sites, office buildings, distribution centers, home owner's associations, government agencies and others.

Through hard work and dedication, the owners have grown Veterans Security into a full-service security company that operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and employs over 500 highly trained security officers. Because of this success, Veterans Security can offer flexibility, high quality training and a wide range of services, giving us a competitive edge over smaller companies. Because we are locally owned and operated, we offer higher efficiency, responsiveness and personal commitment than national companies. We offer the best of both worlds.

Veterans Security is made up of motivated people filled with team spirit, proud of the reputation we've earned through our commitment to total customer satisfaction, and living up to our motto: meet our clients' needs and exceed their expectations. We do this by fulfilling our goals to protect our clients' assets for a reasonable cost, while developing a long-term business relationship by providing service that best fits their needs and their bottom line.

Veterans Security has made many accomplishments through the dedication of our employees and the owners' commitment to excellence. This is only the first chapter of bright future to come.

Customer Service

Veterans Security strives to provide the best private security services at all times. Customer service is a priority and an integral part of our company's philosophy. We treat each client and property with equal care and have incorporated the following practices to ensure our clients' complete satisfaction:

  • Clients have around-the-clock access to our representatives;
  • Our 24/7 command center ensures quick response to all customer requests;
  • Our operation has the flexibility to meet clients' changing needs;
  • Owners are available to meet with clients upon request;
  • Courtesy service calls are made twice a month;
  • Competent advice and evaluations are offered by highly trained consultants.

The management staff at Veterans Security, including the company president, service manager and field supervisors, are available to respond to clients' questions at all times. Dispatchers can connect clients to any member of the management staff upon request, day or night. Our management responsiveness is a guarantee.

All concerns are thoroughly investigated and actions taken as necessary. Any security officer can be replaced at any time at the sole discretion of the client, no questions asked. Periodically, we conduct complete and complex post-evaluations to determine that all requirements are being met.

Our company philosophy encourages all employees of Veterans Security to elevate customer service wherever possible through observance of procedures and open communication. Our commitment is to provide you with peace of mind and safety in your businesses and homes.

Command Center and Dispatch

Our command center dispatchers are at the hub of our communications procedures. Dispatchers are highly trained in all functions, including utilization of computers and electronic equipment, alarm response procedures and public relations. Security officers stay in contact through cell phones. Dispatchers are equipped with immediate access to contact information for management personnel, plus direct dial to all police and fire authorities.

All calls for service are logged into our computerized dispatch system and require a disposition from the security officer within a specific time window, depending upon the nature of the call. Our system will alert dispatchers immediately if a disposition is missed so that appropriate action can be taken.

Supervision

Veterans Security supervisors work very closely with all security officers through training, counseling, inspections and evaluations. Supervisors also act as a liaisons between officers and clients. Each supervisor is responsible for a sector of clients and the officers assigned to those clients. Supervisors stay close in contact and provide support however necessary. GPS tracking for our guard division and mobile patrol division ensures that supervisors are working in "real time" to monitor officers throughout a shift.

Each sector supervisor makes inspections at each shift to reinforce procedures and review duties. Supervisors also utilize more formal "training task sheets" during inspections to test officers' knowledge and execution of a specific duty. Inspections also ensure that officers adhere to our strict uniform guidelines, maintaining an effective and professional appearance at all times.

Safe and Secure
Protection Pays For Local Company
- by Kay Sperduti

In recent years, many businesses have found that success hinges on an ability to diversify. Few industries have had to adapt as quickly to change as private and corporate security companies. Phoenix-based Veterans Security has let customer demand lead them to new services and markets.

Three former military policemen, Chad Benham, William Brandon and Ennio Canziani, founded the company in 1994. While they began by offering security guard services, they quickly found requests coming in for other services such as mobile response to alarms and emergencies.They have since expanded services to Tucson and Las Vegas.

"Good alarm response providers are in great demand," said Benham. "Clients tell us the biggest headache is when it takes two to three hours for someone to respond to an alarm. We found a way to respond in less than 30 minutes."

The company took off once they integrated technology with the physical presence of security guards. They utilize the latest in GPS tracking systems and other security technologies to provide industrial, commercial and residential security.

"When you operate either physical security or technological security independently, there are limitations," said Benham. "Add the capabilities for remote surveillance to real time interaction, and you've got the basis of an enhanced system."

Both Benham and Canziani credit continued growth to a focus on client retention. "Perhaps it's part of having a military background," observed Benham, "but we're very loyal to our customers. In hard times, we appreciate them more than ever. We sharpen our pencils, go the extra mile and do whatever it takes to help them protect themselves, their homes and their companies."
